On 1 July 2015, SKOLKOVO Wealth Transformation Centre held a round table devoted to family offices in contemporary Russia, with private wealth management experts, representatives of family offices and leading international banks, as well as researchers and scholars being among the participants.
"The Future of Private Philanthropy" expert panel took place at Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. SKOLKOVO Transformation Centre is launching this year’s study on philanthropy, dedicated to understanding the current state of the private giving landscape in Russia – from non-institutionalized to institutionalized practices – and its evolution in the future. The expert panel has helped finalize the study agenda with contributions from international and Russian experts. The study will allow getting a general idea of the structure of private philanthropic foundations in Russia, its main mechanisms and barriers as well as future opportunities.
The Study is a project of the SKOLKOVO Wealth Transformation Centre, addressing private wealth and family business. It aims to reveal the attitude of Russia’s businessmen and investors to succession, asset management, charity and philanthropy. The main focus points and hypotheses were identified through preliminary review of both foreign and local academic literature as well as practical studies of private and family wealth.
"Third Sector Transparency" roundtable was held on the 27th of January, 2015. The meeting brought together key suppliers of information on the sector, such as CAF, Evolution and Philanthropy, RusFond and Transparency International. They discussed existing international transparency initiatives and how these could be adapted for the Russian context.
SKOLKOVO business school's experts took part in the VII International Forum “People Investor 2014: companies investing in people” with a report on personal and family values of Russia's wealth possessors.
On the 25th of November SKOLKOVO Wealth Transformation Centre (SWTC) held the first of its annual Wealth Knowledge Day conferences – a unique event, bringing together leading professionals from the field of wealth management from around the world, as well as their clients.
The SKOLKOVO Wealth Transformation Centre (SWTC) has launched it’s the academic study of Russia’s wealth possessors which will focus on topics of private wealth structuring, family business management, succession and philanthropy.
Experts of the SKOLKOVO Wealth Transformation Centre were one of the few representatives from Russia who attended the Skoll World Forum in Oxford, UK. Over the course of three days business school representatives participated in discussions of best practices and dilemmas, as well as attended seminar sessions lead by field experts, game changers, investors and regulators. They also held several meetings with inspiring social entrepreneurs from around the world responsible for changing the way we give to those in need.
The Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO announces the launch of a new research centre – the Wealth Management and Philanthropy Centre. Veronica Misyutina, former partner of PwC in Russia, will head the institution.
